Bee Removal in South Florida

A buzzing in the wall, a dark cluster hanging under the eaves, a steady stream of bees diving into a hole in the soffit — in South Florida, that’s not a curiosity, it’s a countdown. Our warm climate keeps colonies active nearly year-round, and Florida is home to Africanized honey bees, which defend their hives far more aggressively than European honey bees. This is not a DIY job.

At Florida Iguana Ops, we handle stinging-insect problems across South Florida — including professional bee and wasp nest removal. While we’re known for iguana control, bees and wasps are a common call in Palm Beach, Broward, and Martin Counties. They build hives in soffits, wall voids, sheds, attics, and trees — right where your family, pets, and customers are.

We’re a family-owned company based in South Florida. We show up on time, do the job right, and give you straight answers with fair pricing. No gimmicks or runaround.

Why Choose Florida Iguana Ops for Bee Removal?

  • Fully licensed and insured — Peace of mind that you’re working with professionals who follow Florida regulations and best practices.
  • Local family-owned team — We live and work here. We care about protecting your property like it’s our own.
  • Safe, proper methods — We identify the species first — honeybees, wasps, and hornets each call for a different approach — and use methods matched to the situation and the location of the nest.
  • Complete solutions — Removal is only part of the job. We take out the hive or nest, clean up the attractants, and seal entry points so the next swarm doesn’t move into the same spot.
  • Residential & commercial — Homes, condos, HOAs, golf courses, marinas, businesses, and more.

Signs You Have a Bee Problem

  • A visible cluster or swarm hanging from a tree branch, fence, or eave
  • Bees constantly entering and exiting the same hole in a wall, soffit, or roof
  • Buzzing sounds inside walls or ceilings, especially on warm afternoons
  • Dark stains on a wall or ceiling (honey seeping from a hidden hive)
  • Heavy bee traffic around one area of the yard with no flowers nearby
  • Wasps or hornets darting in and out of a ground hole, wall void, or attic vent

A swarm cluster in the open is often temporary — but bees going in and out of your house means they’ve moved in. That’s when you call.

Why Bees Need to Be Removed

Sting risk. Most people get a painful sting. For anyone with an allergy, a single sting is a medical emergency. A hive next to a doorway, pool, or play area is a risk you shouldn’t carry.

Africanized honey bees. Florida has Africanized bees, which react faster, chase farther, and sting in greater numbers than European honey bees. You can’t tell them apart by looking — assume any established hive deserves professional handling.

Hives inside structures cause damage. A hive in a wall void isn’t just bees — it’s pounds of honeycomb, honey, and wax. Honey seeps through drywall, ruins insulation, warps wood, and the smell draws ants, roaches, and rodents long after the bees are gone.

They don’t leave on their own. Once a colony establishes a hive, it grows. A small, cheap removal today becomes a big, expensive one next season.

How We Handle Bee Removal

Every job starts with an inspection so we understand the situation and give you a clear plan.

  • Inspection & identification — We find the nest or hive, determine the species, and assess the size and location. Honeybees, wasps, and hornets each get a different plan.
  • Safe removal — Honeybee colonies are relocated alive whenever the situation allows. Wasp and hornet nests are eliminated with methods matched to the nest location — in the ground, in a wall, under eaves.
  • Hive & nest cleanup — We remove the physical hive or nest material, because leftover honeycomb and pheromones invite the next colony to move right back in.
  • Exclusion & prevention — We seal the entry points with durable materials so the next swarm keeps flying. This is the step that protects your property long-term.

We work on homes, condos, HOAs, golf courses, marinas, and commercial properties. If the situation needs follow-up, we tell you before we leave.
